How are Pellets Made?

To make pellets with aflat die pellet millthe raw material is placed in the machine and is then compressed through holes in a die.

For some pellet mills, the die is stationary and the roller is driven, for others, vice versa.

Wood Pellet Mill with Rotating Roller Design:

There are two designs of the flat die pellet mills/small pellet mill, One version of the wood pellet mill has a rotating die while the other has rotating rollers. In more details, the first type of these small pellet mills has a stationary roller shaft with a rotating die create wood pellets. The second design, which we adopt, has astationary diewith arotating rollershaft so that the rollers spin to force the feedstock through the holes of the die which are then condensed into wood pellets.
There are two advantages to the wood pellet mill with a rotating roller design. One is that the rotating roller has much longer service life than the traditional design--about 2000 hours. Furthermore wood pellets produced by the rotating roller design are much longer, for up to 3 centimeters or more.
