Our CNC ROUTER is a fast and precise, three axis, moving bridge machine. A moving bridge is ideal for the smaller shop as the machines working area is only slightly larger than the work size of the machine table. The Y-axis moves the spindle left to right across the bridge. The X-axis moves the bridge forward and backward and the Z-axis moves the spindle up and down.

It is built to an “industrial machine tool” standard. The machine base is a tubular steel weldment. This is preferred to “bolt together” base as it will not need to be periodically re-squared.

Each axis of motion is supported on a “quad set” of high precision recirculating bearings riding on hardened and ground linear guides ways. High quality linear guides allow for higher feed speeds and a better quality of cut. All bearings are lubricated by a central lubrication system

The X and Y-axis motion is via TAIWAN made helical rack and pinion drive. The rack is hardened for an long life and ground for accuracy. A helical pinion has several gear teeth in contact with the rack simultaneously. Our custom designed pinion cam adjustment eliminates backlash for improved accuracy. All axes use YASKAWA drives and YASKAWA servo amplifiers. The Z-axis is driven by a hardened anti-backlash ball-screw. The ball-screw is support by a set of angular contact bearings. Twin pneumatic cylinders on the Z-axis plate neutralize Z-axis weight allowing very quick and accurate positioning for carving, and hole boring. The entire machine is lubricated by a central lubricating system.

All positioning is accomplished by high torque YASKAWA servo motors. The motors are sized for aggressive acceleration and deceleration and rapid moves of 3,180 I.P.M.

The vacuum table is made of phenolic and is precision machined into a multi zoned table. Each zone is controlled by a ball valve allowing the vacuum to be concentrated for small parts or use the entire table for nested based manufacturing.

The spindle is a 9KW AIR cooled cartridge type motor. The RPM range is programmable from 3,500 - 24,000 RPM. Operation is very quiet and smooth. The operator can change tools manually, at the press of a button, or under full automatic control, using the 8-10 position ATC (Automatic Tool Changer).

The CNC control is run from LNC controller, and control interface are all included with the machine.
