Sand filter is also called Quartz sand filter, or pressure sand filter, for it filtrates water by passing pump with 0.6 MPa pressure. It can be divided into uniflow type and double-flow type. The water flows in former from upper to lower and in latter inversely. By filter material, it can be divided into monolayer and double-deck or multi-deck mechanical filter.

The equipment applies for pre-treatment in ion exchanging water soften system and desalting system, wastewater filtrating, industrial supply rough filtrating and swimming pool water filter system, etc. Particle size of the filter material is decided by water quality. For pre-treatment in desalting system, quartz sand is 0.5-1.0mm; anthracite is 1.2-1.6mm.

The filter material ranges compactly in cartridge, small up, large down. When water flows from upper to lower, suspended matters in water are held back by the filter materials. These matters overlap and bridge mutually and form into membrane to go on with filtrating. This phenomenon is called membrane filtering effect. It also occurs among the materials, called as osmosis filtration.

Moreover, for ranged in rows tightly, the suspended matters in water contact materials longer, and then connected coagulation happens.

In a word, membrane filter, osmosis filter, and connected coagulation.

FEATURES:

NOTE:

Before first using, quartz sand must be backwashed thoroughly.

2. Quartz sand must be packed evenly

3. When stop temporarily, the equipment must be cleaned and water fully, seal to conserve in common pressure, avoid water loss

4. Install on horizontal foundation, deviation must be kept less than 5mm, unless fill up a plate to level

5. Standard flanges connect pipeline and the equipment body

6. Install butterfly valve in the inlet and outlet pipe

7. When supply normally, open butterfly valves at inlet and outlet, close the ones at backflush inlet and outlet and the shutoff valve at outfall

8. Water pressure 0.3/0.4MPa, backwashing 5-10 minutes until water quality up to the requirement. When backflush, open butterfly valves at backwashing inlet and outlet, close the ones at equipment inlet and outlet.
