Overview to the product:

Plate and Frame Filter Press– this is an assembly of plates covered with a filter cloth and frames designed to collect the cake, held together in a press with that has a head plate and tail plate – the press is closed by a hydraulic pump, or manually in small presses. The plates and frame can be made of many types of materials, polypropylene is popular. Many times the press has “recessed plates” where two plates form a cavity for collecting cake eliminating the frame. Filter presses must be opened and the plates separated to remove the cake.

Working principle:

The feed enters the press at the corner of the plate,using a pump suitable for pumping up to 80-90 psi. Then, the feed travels the path of least resistance (up bewteen the filter plates), which has filter media inserted between the plates, and the void between the plates is filled with the slurry, as the liquid passes through the filter media, and travels up to the outlet port at the top of the plate. This liquid is referred to as the "filtrate", and is discharged from the press. The solids remain in the void between the plates, until the plates discharge the filtered solids.

Its structure and componets

Material can be PP, SS, cast iron, etc. Besides, we also can make plate which can bear high temperature and pressure with material of reinforced PP and fiber glass PP.

The plate and frame filter pressbasically consists of a number of filter chambers which are formed by plates and frames. They are mounted vertically on and between two sidebars or suspended from an overhead support beam. The support beam or sidebars are connected at one end to a fixed head, also known as a feed head, and at the other end to a closing head.
