Application:

KOSUN MA series mud agitator is part of the drilling fluid solids control equipment, which

is mainly used to agitate and mix the drilling mud to prevent solids particles from

depositing in the circulating tank and to stabilize the performance of drilling fluid.
It is composed of explosion-proof motor,speed reducer,motor base and blade.The connection
between motor and speed reducer,speeder reducer and impeller shaft is achieved by steel

coupling .The impeller is welded by four blades.

KOSUN agitators are available with three types of impeller: Flat Impeller, Canted Impeller &

Contour Impeller.

Flat impeller, as its high shear force, is suitable to be used in the active mud system

compartment, such as solids removal section, mud mixing section, and slug pits. While low

shear contour impeller is ideal in the bulk storage & suction compartment.

For active mud system compartments less than 5 feet high (1.52 meter), as it is not much

deep, flat impeller should be used to generate radial flow in the drilling fluids. if the

impeller are properly located, it would produce axial flow on the mud flow in the

compartment and suspension will be adequate for most application.

If the mud tank is higher than 5 feet, an 60° angle canted impeller would be used to

produce radial flow & axial flow. If the tank is higher than 12 feet (3.66 meters), two or

more impellers would be used in combination on the shaft.
