Operation principle

Paddle dryer is an indirect heating dryer which is especially designed for drying sticky cake and paste material with very low engery consumption. The rotating rollers and their paddles are both filled with heating medium, such as thermal oil, steam and hot water. Moreover, the wall of the dryer has a jacket which also be filled with heating medium. During the operation, the materials will be completed grinded, mixed and stirred up to increase the heat transfer area between the wet material and the heating surface.The moisture will be evaporated during the heat transfer and exhaust by the fan.

Paddle dryer is famous for its high heat efficiency and has been widely used for drying granule, powder and sticky material. It has the following features:

1. The heat efficiency can reach as high as 80-90%; heat transfer coefficient is 100-300 Kcal/ H-M²-°C and the evaporation capacity is 10-30 Kg/H- M²

2. Multi-purpose : The production can be continuous and batch type; can operation under normal and vacuum condition for heat sensitive material; can be used for drying, cooling or re-drying.

3. The heating medium can thermal oil, hot water, steam or cooling liquid.

4. The dryer is compact in size and process capacity is relative huge because of big heat transfer area.

5. Wide application scope: It can be used to dry granule, powder and very sticky material with very wide range of moisture content.
