Introduction

Hydraulic splitters offer a method for breaking rock and concrete that can be used in areas where excavators are unable to get to or for precision breaking. The applications of the splitter are many and include retaining walls, concrete, floor slabs,

foundations, reinforced concrete, and brick walls. Engineered for heavy work, hydraulic splitters can outperform many large mounted impact machines. The method is quiet and directions of breaks can be controlled. Using a splitter, large pieces of concrete or rock can be broken in seconds for removal. Splitters also minimize both shock and vibration.

Used in conjunction with drilling, powerful hydraulic wedges are inserted into pre-drilled holes and mechanically expanded until

the material is forced apart. Once the integrity has been broken down, the concrete can be removed using your preferred method.

Hydraulic rock splitters consist of two wedges which are inserted in a pre-drilled hole and a hydraulic cylinder is pushing out a

center wedge between the two side wedges forcing them to separate. Hydraulic splitters are now available at hire shops or another alternative could be Expando non explosive demolition agent.
