Usage of drilling mud desilter

The desilter is mainly used to eliminate the 20to40 μm harmful solids in the mud. The hydrocyclones adopt

fast connection.

The desilter is efficiently designed, easy to maintain and has a long working life with stable performance.

Characteristics of the Structure

1.The strong separating power and wide particle size range characterizes the hydrocyclone with optimized

velocity distribution;

2. The reversed umbrella shaped ‘wet bottom’ flow can drain out the sand easily and reduce the chance of jam at the nozzle.

3.The advanced small screen shale shaker features in high capacity, little noise, and long service life of the

screen.

4. The parallel inlet pipes make the desilter work smoothly.

Working Principle

The drilling fluid is fed into the hydrocyclones in the tangent direction by the sand pump under the pressure of 0.2~0.4Mpa.

The high speed downward revolution of the fluid can generate great centrifugal force. The heavier solid particles will be thrown to the inner wall of the cyclones.

The deeper and smaller the diameter of the cyclone is, the greater the angular velocity of the flowing fluid will be, generating greater centrifugal force.
