Two main process of crude palm oil

1>.crude oil refining section

The palm oil refining process is quite identical. There are two routes are taken to process crude oil into refined oil; which are chemical (basic) refining and physical refining. The methods differ basically in the way the fatty acids are removed from the oil. Physical refining, which eliminates the need for an effluent plant for the soap stock, involves subjecting the oil to steam distillation under higher temperature and vacuum for removal of the free fatty acids. The physical refining is used to remove the free fatty acids. The refining of physical plant is practiced to subject the oil to steam distillation.

2>.fractionation section

Fractionation is the special treatment of palm oil, palm oil is to cool down to

degrees and to maintain a certain time, the melting point of the components

will become crystallized, can be filtered by the second "fractionation" into

three different melting point of the product these three products are palm

stearin melting point above 40 degrees, palm olein melting point of 30

degrees and 20 degrees about the liquid melting point of palm oil.

Production of three products roughly 20%, 30% and 50%, which can

achieve high quality liquid palm oil cooking oil standards.
