Description	EC Motor (Electronically commutated motors)
working principle	Electronically Commutated (EC) motoris combines AC and DC voltages, bringing the best of both technologies. The principle is permanent-magnet brushless DC motor within the rotor, the stator is driven by electronic switches (which replace the Carbon brushes), controlled by a micro-controller. Electronic system (hall effect sensor or software is used to recognize the rotor position), the motor runs on a DC voltage, but with a normal AC supply. It have little more than half the power consumption of standard AC motors.

Internal rotor EC Motors

Theelectronically commutated internal rotor motorsfeature exceptional power density and dynamics. Partially integrated electronics and a wide variety of combination options from the modular system offer an extensive range of options in the power range from 10w to 2hp. The high efficiency ofinternal rotor EC motorshelps to keep the energy costs at a low level. Temperature rise is low since an EC motor generates approx only 1/3 of the heat loss known for conventional AC single and three-phase motors. This contributes to long motor life. The electronics can be either integrated onto a PCB inside of the motor of can be separated unit.
