1. Brief introduction

This machine is single column vertical lathes, the max.cutting diameter is 1600mm, the max. height of workpiece is 1400mm, this machine is suitable to machine ferrus and non-ferrus material with high speed tool and carbide tool.

Cylindrical surface and conical surface can be done in this machine, other operations like surface cutting, cutting-off also can be performed on this machine

3. main structure and performance

3.1 layout of machine

This machine is mainly composed of following parts: Column, Main drive gear box, elevation mechanism of cross rail, rail head, Electric system, Hydraulic system and etc. The main gear box is fastened on the end of the column, table is set on the front of column, the cross rail move along the slideway of column, there is one rail head of which can feed in a rapid traverse speed and move along the guideways of cross rail. The table is driven by AC motor, one suspending pendant is set to be used to perform all the operations of machine.

3.2 main structure performance

3.2.1 main drive mechanism

The main transmission system is driven by AC motor, hydraulic clylinder is set to change the engagement of gears to change the speed, there are altogether 16 steps of table speed, the operating is performed on the suspending pendant station.

3.2.2 feed mechanism

The two direction of movement of rail head is driven through AC motor, rapid traverse and feed motion of rail head is realized by the feed gear box.

3.3 main character of each part

3.3.1 table

Dynamic pressure guideway is used in the table, two Model 3182100 short cylindrical roller bearings are used to ensue the rotation precision of table, the inner conical surface of table bearing has ensured the radial clearance can be adjusted. Adequate oil flow ensure the good lubrication of table bearing, four chuck jaws are used on the table.

3.3.2 Column

The column is connected with the table base, the material is high intensity and low stress casting, cross rail elevation mechanism is set on the slide of column that is driven by the AC motor.

3.3.3 cross rail

Cross rail can move along the guideway of the colum and driven by one lead screw, safety floating nut is mounted on the cross rail to ensure the safe and reliable moving of cross rail, the cross rail is clamped and realesed by tapered iron which is pushed by one level in which one end is connected by hydraulic cylinder

3.3.4 rail head

The rail head is three layer structures, cross saddle, swiveling saddle and ram. They are all made of high dense and low stress casting; the ram is made of nodular cast iron.

3.3.5 hydraulic system

The hydraulic system is mainly composed of table dynamic pressure system, main gear changing system, the cross rail releasing and clamping system, lubrication system and so on, we use prominent products to ensure the high quality of machine.

3.3.6 There are two ways of lubrication: automatic lubrication system and hand oil pump.

Run-out of table in the diameter of 1000mm, the allowable deviation is 0.02, every increment of 1000mm, the allowable deviation is 0.01mm
