This lline adopts batch type reacting system.Its cost is lower and easily operation. The reaction equipment adopts the low temperature and normal atmosphere. The conversion rate of ester exchange will be higher than 95% if the material like the oil, methanol and the catalyst are put into the reactor in batches and keep boiling in the reactor.
This process is including to the following steps.
1. Pre-clearing for the raw material:
It must be alkali refined or pre-esterificated with the methanol if the rate of non-esterified fatty acid in oil is higher than 2%. We use the NaOH for neutralizing, if the FFA is more than 5%, we use H2SO4 for the catalyst to preesterificated, then the balance oil is esterificated. So that we can reduce the amount of catalyst used and soap contents in the raw glycerol.
2. Transesterification Process
It adopts two steps for the reacting, to make the exchanging rate arrive at 95% more.
A.) Preheating the oil deacidified and degummed in the reactor for 70°C, then separately put catalyst and methanol into the ester exchange reactor. Then mix the mixture in the reactor under the temperature of 70°C. Mixing time is for 2 hours.
After sinking for more than 2-4hours, the above is rude methyl ester and the bottom of the reactor, heavy parts are put out, mainly is the glycerol.
B) The Second Reacting Process
Samely put the catalyst and methanol into the reactor, together mixing and reacting for 2-3hours. And sinks to separate the mixture, get the rude methyl ester to the next water distilling Process.
3. Recovery of the Methanol
The rude ethyl ester goes into the Distiller vessel and be heated under the vacuum condition, the methanol would become gas and go into the cooler, then become the liquid for flowing into the methanol tank for recycling using.
4. Washing & Drying Process
After distilling, the methyl ester is pump into the washing tank, add the hot water for mixing and sink for 2-4 hours, the bottom is put off.
And the above is pump into the drying vessel, which is distilled to remove out the moisture under the heating and the vacuum condition. This process also recovery the balance methanol. So the final product is biodiesel.
5. Recovery for glycerin and methanol
The reactant stays still in the separator and separates the raw glycerol. The methanol can be evaporated out from the raw glycerol with the methanol evaporator, and then the raw glycerol is refined later on.
The way to recycle the little glycerol in the methyl ester:
At first heat the raw methyl ester to recycle the methanol, and then add water and diluted acid into the raw methyl ester so that the glycerol in the methanol, soap contents in the methyl ester and catalyst can be washed out. After the still delamination, the raw glycerol is then turned into post processing refinery procedure.
