After producing large and deep bores in a VTL, bores need to be polished at a high speed to smoothen the high points on the bore surface and to provide a mirror finish. Doing this operation in a bore grinding machine is time-consuming and expensive. We have developed this belt polishing attachment which can be mounted to the tool post of a VTL. Polishing attachment has a long and accurate grinding spindle, which is supported by pairs of high accuracy class of angular contact bearings. A dynamically balanced polyurethane wheel is mounted on the spindle and it rotates the polishing belt through an idler roller.
