Introduction:

In biomass briquetting process, drying is is a very important part.

To get the superior quality of biomass briquettes with high density, it is necessary to control the moisture of material at 8-12% exactly.

The airflow type dryer is suitable for dry biomass sawdust of20%-70%moisture content.

Operation Principle:

1. wet materials are sent into silo by belt and bucket conveyor,

2. the material pass through feeding tube into the feed end. The gradient of feeding tube must be greater than the natural angle of materials, so that material can enter into desiccator.

3.The desiccators’ cylinder is an oblique rotating drum. Heat-carrier that enters into the dryer from the low-end can form reflux with the material added from the upper end.

4.With the rotating of cylinder, materials are carried to the bottom end by gravity.

5.wet materials obtain heat input of heat carrier to be dried.

The dryer:

The structure of the dryer include : firebox, buffers, trash outlet, impurity storage hole,

pulse pipe, exhaust blower(fan) and cyclone, as it shows in the draft below:

Working principle:

The function of the dryer is to dry the excess moisture from the raw material and to be the suitable moisture material that we needed. The firebox produces heat(and the heat producer could be all kinds of fuel except the poisonous materials) ,through the power of the exhaust fan and through the full contacts between the rotary drum and raw material,

make the raw material to be heated and then dry the excess moisture. there is a spiral feeding device which is in regular order in the rotary drum,

through the fall height of the rotary drum and the full mix of the heat and the raw material, dry the raw material, then the raw material is drawn by the exhaust blower to the pulse pipe and after the pipe,

it will be sent to the cyclone to be separated, then the dried raw material will come out.
